Ceramic Heater Mounting Our custom designed single piece clip allows for easy mounting and a reduction in the parts required for assembly. Mount heaters in a 20 to 24 gauge [.036" (.9mm) to .025" (.6mm)] aluminized steel or stainless steel reflector. The single piece "clip(s)" secures the heater to the reflector as shown in the drawing below. The original two piece clip is still available upon request, and must be used for reflectors thicker than 20 Gauge [.036" (.9mm)] This drawing shows the ceramic heaters back side mounting post being inserted through a pre-cut hole in a reflector. For best results the reflector should be highly reflective (polished aluminized steel) and capable of withstanding high temperatures.

The Salamander ESE (Solid Edison Screw Cap Heater) must be installed into an appropriately sized porcelain Edison base, reflector, and guard. (Part #: R/H/G).
Warnings For best results, the surface temperature of the Salamander ceramic infrared heater should be controlled using an open-loop (percentage timer) or a closed-loop (thermocouple feedback with digital temperature control) system. The infrared emission intensity is directly related to the surface temperature of the ceramic body (see the Salamander technical manual for more details). Hazard of fire: Do not mount ceramic heaters near combustible materials or within a hazardous area. Ceramic heaters should never be used in an explosive atmosphere. Electrical Shock: Disconnect electrical power before servicing heaters. All electrical wiring must be done in accordance to local electrical codes by a qualified service technician. Do not operate the Salamander ceramic heaters at a surface temperature greater than 1292°F (700°C). Do not operate the Salamander ceramic heaters at voltages in excess of their rated voltage. Do not touch the ceramic heaters after power is applied to the heaters. Never immerse ceramic heaters in liquids. Severe Burns: Ceramic heaters operate at high temperatures. Do not touch heaters after power is applied to the heaters.
See page 5 of our Technical Manual and our detailed installation instructions for more information about panels and mounting ceramic heaters. |
