Heaters for Thermoforming / Vacuum Forming of Plastics
Thermoforming is the heating and molding of plastic sheet or film of a variety of thickness and sizes. All of the electric heater options available are listed below.
|Mor-Infrared Ceramic Heaters. Individual elements are 96% infrared energy efficient with a maximum temperature of 1292ºF. Standard voltages are 120, 220, 230, 240 and 480 and standard wattages range between 150 and 1000.||Solar Products FBA-Series. Similar to the F-Series heater, with holes drilled in the heater face to allow for forced airflow through the heater. The purpose of the airflow is to provide combination infrared/convection heating. The heater can be as wide as 24" (610mm) and as long as 72" (1829mm), though not this wide and long in the same heater.|
|ALEX. Aluminum extrusion housing case pre-wired for 1-5 FTE type ceramic heaters. The reflector is polished stainless steel. Can be mounted in any direction, or side by side to make a larger panel.||Solar Products Q-Series. As wide as 12" (305mm) and as long as 24" (610mm). The QP model has a maximum watt density of 40 wsi (62 kw/m2). The QH model has a maximum watt density of 60 wsi (93 kw/m2).|
|Solar Products F-Series. Industry standard in thermoforming and can be used in most other process heating applications.||Chromalox CP Panel Heaters. Flat-Faced Wide Area Radiant Panel Heaters. Woven refractory cloth with a black ceramic coating on the front. 0.55 - 18 kW. 120, 230, 240 and 480 Volt. 1650°F Max. Emitter Temperature. 6 - 60" Long x 12 - 30" Wide, Ink Drying and Spot Curing for Printing and Silk Screening, Thermoforming and Vacuum Forming or Wherever Close Maximum Heat is Required|
|Solar Products M, G, K Series. The G-Series heaters have also become an industry standard in thermoforming. The M-Series heaters, with a hard-coated aluminum face has increased durability of a metal face that is often required in the thermoforming industry.||Black Star Ceramic Strip Heater. Can be used as an infrared heater up to 1000°F for Thermoforming. 1/4"-5/16"-3/8" thickness. Up to 45 watts/square inch. Minimum 4" up to any practical length|
|Chromalox CPHI. High Intensity Quartz Flat-Faced Wide Area Radiant Panel Heater. High Intensity Quartz Faced Radiant Heater, 1.6 - 4.8 kW, 240 and 480 Volt, 1750°F Max. Emitter Temp., 10" Long x 4 - 12" Wide. Moisture Removal, Soften Plastics prior to Thermoforming or Wherever Close Maximum Heat is Required||Quartz Tube Heater Assemblies. Medium wave heaters (Same size as ceramic heaters.) Quartz tubes running parallel to each other within a highly reflective aluminized steel housing. Watt densities up to 30 w/sq. inch are available. Small in size, and can easily be put in larger panels.|
|Quartz Tubes. Medium wave infrared tubes. Heat-up time in 30-60 seconds, and cool-down time is 15 seconds. Coiled nichrome wire inside of a quartz tube. 3/8", 1/2" and 5/8" diameters. Quartz tube source temperature to 1600°F||Quartz T3 Lamps. High intensity short wave infrared lamps. 3/8" diameter clear quartz lamp sheath, Standard 5.7" flexible lead wires, Short-wave infrared radiation with a temperature up to 4,000°F. Sealed quartz tube with an internal tungsten element.|
|Blasdel Ceramic Generators. Ideal for wood, plastic, and other low temperature substrates. The durable nichrome wire wound around a ceramic core is embedded in ceramic material and fired in a kiln.||Open Coil Elements. Coiled nichrome metal wire. Resistance wire open coil elements are used in vacuum forming / thermoforming. Cut to length needed.|
|Blasdel COR Coil-O-Rod Generators. Powder coating, baked enamels, moisture dry off, softening plastics for compression molding or vacuum forming, degreasing, etc. Exceptionally long service life. On average, one can expect about 10,000 hours, however much longer is not uncommon.||Type RADD (two element) 1.6 - 13 kW, 120, 208, 240, 275 and 480 Volt, 3/8" Dia. INCOLOY® Sheath Elements (type RTU), 1500°F Max. Sheath Temp.|
|Chromalox Type RAD. 0.40 to 4.5 kW. One metal sheathed tubular heating element in a housing assembly available in lengths between 13 5/8" and 106" Width is 3 11/16"||Fostoria U-Shaped Metal Replacement Elements. .430" diameter Inconel metal sheath. Available wattages: 1800 to 4500W. Available voltages: 120 to 600V|
|Chromalox Type S-RAD. (Single Element) 0.95 - 4.4 kW., 120, 208, 240 and 275 Volt, 3/8" Dia. INCOLOY Sheath Elements, 1500°F Max. Sheath Temp. For Resin Curing, Thermoforming, Equipment Packaging, Mirror Manufacturing, Rubber Curing, etc.||Mor Quartz Tube Aluminum Extrusion Panels. 3¾” Wide x 24, 36, 48, 60 or 72" Long. Rigid extruded aluminum housing protects element from harsh industrial environments. Complete, Ready-To-Connect Assembly.|
