The quartz lamp elements are mounted in a
sturdy extruded aluminum housing containing a highly polished aluminum parabolic
reflector.

Applications:

|
Textiles and Non-Woven Fabrics —
Drying, resin finishing, heat setting and shrinking, booster preheating, controlling dye
migration, fiber bonding and silk screen drying. |
|
|
Plastics — Thermoforming, laminating,
embossing, postforming, film shrinking around palletized loads. Fusing coatings
(plastisols, organisols), preheating and postheating materials for fluidized bed coatings,
ink and paint drying. |
|
|
Paper and Paperboard — Curing latex
and resin for high wet and dry strength selective drying of corrugated board liner,
booster preheating, setting protein derivatives and clay coatings, laminating, fiber
bonding, drying adhesives and ink drying. |
|
|
Metals — Baking or curing finishes,
water dry-off, weld preheating, shrink fitting and stress relieving. |

Higher Operating Temperatures than metal
sheath elements permit faster work speeds in some applications. |

Very Fast Heat-Up/Cool-Down makes quartz
lamp heaters suitable for applications requiring immediate operating temperature and/or
quickly reduced heat in event of work stoppage. |
|
|
Quartz Elements are Highly Resistant to Thermal
Shock but are subject to mechanical breakage. This can be minimized
by careful handling and the use of protective grilles which are furnished separately. |
|
|
Easy Horizontal Mounting only. Mounting
clamps and bolts are furnished for back attachment to straight or specially formed steel
straps, etc. Housing may be in any position in horizontal plane. |
|
|
Process Temperature Control — Quartz
lamp radiant heaters may be controlled by Chromalox SCR Power Controllers with Phase Angle
firing mode control. See the Controls section of this catalog. |

Highly Polished Aluminum Reflectors give
good reflectivity and heat transfer, and are easily cleaned to maintain energy efficiency. |

|
Note — Because terminal temperature
cannot exceed 650°F, forced cooling is sometimes necessary. Intense brightness of the
quartz element may also cause visual discomfort if mounted in the line of sight. |
